About this data

What the numbers mean

Population is the country's own figure from the curated workbook. The score is the country's composite total from the same workbook that scores every metro, and the metro count is the number of ranked metros under that flag.

How often it refreshes

Populations change when the workbook is edited and rebuilt; current leaders are checked against Wikidata weekly.

Known limits

  • Constituents and territories sit under their parent country; a few parents, such as the United Kingdom, have no population row of their own and keep their last recorded figure.
  • There is no single date for the whole table, so none is shown.
