Metro time zones
Every metro's clock: the zones that hold the most metro power, and the ones that keep odd hours.
Data as of
4,314 metros · 351 zones · OpenStreetMap time-zone boundaries via timezonefinder; lat/lon from the Metro Areas sheet
The world's clocks
Each dot is a metro, coloured by the offset its zone keeps today.
How zones are assigned
Border metros carry the zone of their coordinates, which can differ from the country's legal zone. Crimea, Kosovo and Vietnam appear under Simferopol, Belgrade and Bangkok because the boundary set merges same-offset zones.
Zones by metro power
Combined Metro Power of each zone's metros; summer offset is the larger of January and July.
How offsets are computed
Offsets are computed from the IANA database on the day you read the page, so they move when clocks change. Zones without summer time show a dash in the summer column.
Odd hours
Metros whose clocks sit a half hour or a quarter hour off the whole-hour grid.
How this is counted
A metro is listed when its offset today is not a whole number of hours, so one can join or leave the list when clocks change.
Countries across the most zones
Countries whose metros keep more than one clock, with the zones they span.
