Who controls the club

The entity that holds control today, one per franchise; co-controllers and minority holders are listed, never summed.

How this is measured

Exactly one control entity is recorded per franchise, so a portfolio can never count a club twice. Co-controllers and minority holders are shown as published and carry no weight in any total.

The chip names the evidence. Sourced: a primary source is linked (league, club, filing or tier-one outlet). Cross-checked: matched against the ownership-change sweep. Contested: disputed or mid-sale. Rows are reviewed weekly.

Stakes are as published, often only “majority”, and are not pro-rated. A record of control is not a claim about anyone’s intent or conduct.

Minority holders: Venus and Serena Williams; Ares Management (minority, 2024); Lin Bin (1%, 2026); Jean Eric Salata (2.1%, agreed Oct 2026, NFL owners' approval pending)

Ross keeps control. Xiaomi co-founder Lin Bin bought 1% in spring 2026 at a $12.5B valuation (ESPN; AP via Fortune, 1 Apr 2026). On 16 Oct 2026 Sports Business Journal reported that Ross agreed to sell 2.1% of the Dolphins and affiliated businesses (Hard Rock Stadium, the F1 Miami Grand Prix and the Miami Open interest) to Jean Eric Salata, founder of Baring Private Equity Asia and chairman of EQT, at a valuation slightly above $12.5B, an NFL record for a minority stake. Field Level Media carried the report and said the NFL finance committee had approved it, with the owners' vote expected at the fall meeting in New York. This is a minority change only.
