🏀 College basketball by metro

Where the men’s game lives: every metro with a Division I program, its programs, and what they have won between them.

College basketball by metro

221 metros hold the 498 programs; 48 of them have a national title. Ranked by titles, then Final Fours, bids and wins; sort by any column.

Where this comes from

Source: each program’s metro comes from the MetroData tab of the Citizen of Nowhere college basketball workbook (the same metro as the all-time table). Titles are national championships from every selector: the NCAA tournament (1939 on) plus the retroactive Helms and Premo-Porretta champions, each season counted once per program; the small line under a total shows how many were NCAA tournament titles. Final Fours and NCAA bids are counted from each program’s season rows, and all-time wins are the Totals tab.

Results the NCAA later struck stay in every count and carry an asterisk; nothing is demoted.
