The Line

Line is 1500 plus 100 times a club's z-score within its code, putting both on one scale.

How this is measured

Each club's rating is standardised within its own code (AFL or NRL) as 1500 + 100 times the z-score against that code's clubs, so a Line of 1600 means one standard deviation above its code's average; peaks use each club's best rating in a season against every club's best that season. Ratings run through 2026-09-26.

World Series Cricket, 1977 to 1979

From 1977 to 1979 Kerry Packer's World Series Cricket signed most of the world's best players after the Australian Cricket Board refused his Channel Nine the television rights. Its matches are not official records, so they are not counted anywhere on this site. It left behind coloured clothing, day-night cricket and the white ball.
