Fan map: the Bundesliga in Germany
Which club each German Land searches for, as a share of all its Bundesliga searches.
Bundesliga · Google Trends by German Land · Oct 2025 to Sept 2026 · as of 3 Nov 2026
Where each club is searched
Pick a club: a darker dot means more of that area's Bundesliga searches are about it.
How this is measured
Each value is the club's Google Trends search topic against the Bundesliga topic itself in the same request, so it reads as club searches per 100 Bundesliga searches in that Land and compares across clubs and Länder. A value above 100 means the club is searched more often than the league itself there. It measures attention, not the number of fans: a club on a winning run or in the news draws searches well beyond its fan base. Trends answers Germany only by Land, so each Land is one figure, drawn as a dashed dot at its largest metro: all of Bavaria reads the same in Munich and Nuremberg. Berlin, Hamburg and Bremen are city-states, so their figures are the cities themselves.

Sources and method
Source: Google Trends, interest by region in Germany, Oct 2025 to Sept 2026. Each request holds up to four clubs' search topics and the Bundesliga topic, and every value is divided by the Bundesliga value in the same Land, so all 18 clubs share one scale. Topics come from each club's Wikidata Freebase ID, so short names typed alone count. Outside the US, Trends gives regions and nothing finer, so there is no city-level map of Germany.
Each Land's dot sits at the largest metro we cover in it; Brandenburg's is Cottbus, because the Berlin suburbs belong to the Berlin metro. The 18 clubs are the current Bundesliga season's sides. The highest share for any leader other than Bayern Munich is Hamburger SV in Hamburg, 173.
