1987 Philippine House of Representatives Election

Congress restored

May 11, 1987 · Congress restored · 200 seats, 101 for a majority

The first House elected under the 1987 constitution, filling 200 district seats. Candidates aligned with President Aquino won a large majority, though spread across PDP–Laban, Lakas ng Bansa, UNIDO, the Liberals and joint tickets; Ramon Mitra became Speaker.

Seat totals are the elected district seats only. Until 1998 up to 25 sectoral representatives were appointed by the president, not elected, and are not counted here. The 1987 figures come from the article infobox (seats and district vote shares only); joint and coalition candidacies are grouped as one line.
