The annulled election

Legislative Council elections were held in Mandatory Palestine in February and March 1923. However, due to an Arab boycott of the elections called by the fifth Palestine Arab Congress, the results of the election were annulled, and an Advisory Council was appointed instead.

A colonial design with a built-in official majority: 12 elected seats against 10 appointees and the High Commissioner, on a male-only franchise. The Arab boycott left the elected seats unfillable and the results were annulled — no Legislative Council ever met.
