1992 Philippine Senate Election

May 11, 1992 · Congress restored · 24 of 24 seats contested, 13 for a Senate majority

Elected alongside the 1992 presidential vote, again all 24 seats at once, with the top 12 serving six years and the rest three, to begin the staggered cycle. The LDP of Ramon Mitra took 16 seats even as its presidential candidate finished fourth; actor Tito Sotto topped the poll.

All 24 seats were filled at once; the 12 highest-placed winners served six-year terms and the other 12 three-year terms, which started the half-Senate cycle used ever since.
