The 12th National People's Congress (NPC) was elected in national congressional conferences from October 2012 to February 2013 and was in session from 2013 to 2018. It succeeded the 11th National People's Congress.
An indirect, Communist Party-controlled selection: delegates are chosen through tiers of party-managed elections with no opposition permitted, and the eight licensed minor parties all formally accept CCP leadership. Recorded here as the workings of a one-party state, not as a competitive election.
