Sources and method

Every block comes from an English Wikipedia season article, refreshed once a week. The Top 14 round dates come from the French Wikipedia article, the one place they are written down. A league season is two blocks: the lighter regular season, drawn in pieces so a break shows as a gap, and the solid play-offs with the final marked.

A Test window is a run of men's Test dates with no gap of more than eight days, taken from the Six Nations, the Nations Championship, the tours and one-off Tests, and the World Cup. Dashed blocks are a usual window worked out from the two previous seasons, not confirmed dates. The URC and Super Rugby Pacific span several nations and are drawn once. Pro D2 and the women's club leagues are not included.
