Legislative elections were held in France between 29 August and 5 September 1791, the first national elections to the Legislative Assembly. They took place during a period of turmoil caused by the Flight and Arrest at Varennes, the Jacobin split, the Champ-de-Mars Massacre and the Pillnitz Declaration.
