The reciprocity election: Laurier's free-trade agreement with the United States united Ontario manufacturers and imperial loyalists against him ('No truck nor trade with the Yankees'), while Henri Bourassa's nationalistes attacked his naval policy in Quebec. Borden's Conservatives ended fifteen years of Liberal rule.
