National capitals where no metro in the same or higher score tier sits within 240 km. Tier-comparability replaces rank-comparability: a Local City small town never disqualifies a Major Metro capital, but a peer in the capital's own tier or above does. Surfaces the deliberately-isolated capitals at the World City and Major Metro tiers (Madrid 505 km to Barcelona, Buenos Aires 1675 km to São Paulo, Santiago 1139 km to Buenos Aires, Mexico City 1210 km to Houston, Canberra 247 km to Sydney) alongside the geographically-isolated capitals (Nairobi, Reykjavík, Honiara, Papeete, Hamilton Bermuda, Avarua, Windhoek, Port Moresby, Ulan Bator). Global Capital-tier capitals (Tokyo, London, Beijing, Moscow) surface against each other across continents because the tier has few members worldwide. Note: Brasília no longer qualifies because Goiânia (same Regional Hub tier) sits 178 km away. Sorted by distance descending: most-isolated first.
Tier A — Continental remoteness
More than 800 km from the nearest peer in the same or higher score tier. Capitals where the next tier-comparable metro is on the other side of the country, the continent, or an ocean.
Tier B — Deeply isolated
Between 500 and 800 km from the nearest peer in the same or higher score tier. Reachable but never near. Many of these are deliberate inland or symbolic capitals.
